Marcus Peters happy for Marshawn Lynch, ready for Chiefs to play in Oakland

Marcus Peters vs. his friend and mentor Marshawn Lynch is an underrated story line right now but it will be a big topic heading into the Chiefs Week 7 showdown in Oakland on Thursday night. Peters was at the annual Fam 1st Foundation football camp and a reporter from the Mercury News talked to him for this story.

Peters is known to be close with Marshawn and we know he represents Oakland, his hometown, despite it being the Chiefs biggest rival (with a nod to the Broncos). Now that Lynch is a Raider, what does Peters think about them?

“It’s going to feel good for him,” Peters said of Lynch’s homecoming. “It’s going to be a good feeling, It’s going to be a good feeling for Oakland. But when we come here, we’re going to beat the dog (expletive) out of him.”

Haha awesome. I love that. He gets right to it. Peters and Oakland run deeper than the Chiefs and he and Marshawn are going to know each other forever, I’m sure. When it comes to winning a Super Bowl, however, Peters won’t mind beating him.

Check out the story from the Mercury News. It’s about Marshawn’s return to Oakland with quotes from Peters and others. This is going to be a fun story line as the season goes on. I can’t help but think how tough it is for older backs, especially with time off, to come back and perform at a high level.
