Raiders DB who has never faced the Chiefs know the Raiders can stop the Chiefs

The Oakland Raiders drafted defensive back Obi Melifonwu in the second round last April so he has yet to face the Kansas City Chiefs. However, Melifonwu is sure the Raiders can beat the Chiefs.

"I think [we can stop them]," Melifonwu said on Good Morning Football on Monday. "Like I said, with all the guys we have this year, with everybody that's coming back and with everybody we've added, our coaching staff and everybody that's been really for the cause I think we can stop them.

"Actually, I know we can stop them."

Surely he knew the Chiefs have beaten the Raiders in five consecutive games and seven of the last eight.

The Raiders are getting awfully confident. I’m a little worried that they have a reason to be confident because their offseason looks awfully different from the Chiefs. The Raiders are on the rise, brought back Marshawn Lynch and paid their quarterback of the future. It’s hard to ignore the positive feeling coming out of Oakland (which is a weird thing to say).

The Chiefs, on the other hand, have had a less than ideal offseason. The front office departures to John Dorsey’s firing to Jeremy Maclin’s surprise release. The optics aren’t good. Ask an outsider and they’ll tell you the Raiders are on the rise and the Chiefs are not. So pick the Raiders.

I still think the Chiefs have the Andy Reid trump card here. He is a better coach than Jack Del Rio and has shown that the past few years. Until proven wrong, I’ll take Big Red over the Raiders.
