It’s being reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that the Kansas City Chiefs have a GM interview today. Per Rapoport, Ryan Cowden from the Titans will be interviewing with the Chiefs today.
Cowden comes from the Titans where he oversaw college and pro scouting. He was a long-time Panthers scout before that. I’m not sure what if any connection to Andy Reid there is besides Ron Rivera in Carolina, who previously worked with Cowden and Reid.
Who will sit in on the interview? Clark Hunt seems like a good guess and so does Andy Reid and maybe even Mark Donovan. They’re on the Chiefs leadership team. If only the Chiefs would give me a seat at the table I could tell you for sure who is there.
Cowden is one of several GM candidates that have been reported, along with ESPN’s Louis Riddick (which he denied), in-house candidate Brett Veach and Scott Fitterer from the Seahawks. Rapoport reported that Fitterer’s interview was going to go down on Tuesday or Wednesday.
