Chiefs’ Eric Berry lands in the top 15 on the NFL’s top 100 players list

Eric Berry put up one of the most memorable seasons for a safety in my lifetime with his performance in 2017. Without him the Chiefs don’t beat the Panthers or Falcons or a number of other games. He was amazing and earned every dollar.

For that, he has been ranked No. 13 in the NFL’s top 100 players list, which is up from No. 55 last year. That sounds about right for a guy who could’ve won defensive player of the year.

You can watch Berry’s segment on NFL Network here or read a few quotes from his peers below.

Texans S Corey Moore: “How he prevailed through hard times and what he brings to the game, he lives for the game and I love people like that.”

Jaguars WR Allen Robinson: “When you think of the definition of box safety, physical, can play in the box, run stopper. Then you think of cover safety, middle of the field safety, he can do them both. He can do them both at a high level.”

Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas: “Everybody talks about Earl Thomas sideline to sideline but Eric Berry he can do the same thing.”

Tyreek Hill (watching film of the Panthers game): “Eric Berry just doing Eric Berry things. He’s making people miss. Double spin. That boy hit B two times. To the house. You just can’t coach that right there.”
