Parker Ehinger may not be ready for Chiefs training camp

One injury note coming from the end of the Kansas City Chiefs mandatory minicamp this week is G Parker Ehinger. It sounds like the Chiefs aren’t counting on him to be ready for training camp. How do we know that? Because Andy Reid said they’re not counting on him to be ready for training camp.

“I think it will be a race for him to be ready to go,” Reid said when asked about Ehinger via quotes from the Chiefs. “I’m not counting on that.”

The Chiefs are pretty rock solid at the other four spots on the offensive line. Ehinger was a draft pick last year who won the job out of camp but then got injured and was done for the year. He’s still pretty inexperienced.

Not many teams can plug in a backup who has 34 starts under his belt but that’s what the Chiefs have with Zach Fulton. The Chiefs offensive line still looks like a potential strength this year with or without Ehinger.
