Chiefs sign two players, cut Stanley Jean-Baptiste

I was a little intrigued by the Kansas City Chiefs signing former second round pick CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste but the odds were stacked against him. His time in KC is now over as the Chiefs have cut him.

Thursday’s NFL transactions report shows the Chiefs cut Jean-Baptiste and G Corin Brooks after the close of minicamp on Thursday. They signed two new players with those roster spots: CB Trevon Harfield and OT Donald Hawkins.

The KC Star’s Terez Paylor reported the Chiefs tried out Hawkins earlier this week so they must have liked what they saw.

Hartfield is a 6’, 195-pound cornerback out of Southwestern Oklahoma State (where? Dorsey is doing his homework) as a 2016 undrafted free agent. He spent time with the Cardinals and Titans. He’ll have Chiefs training camp next month to prove his worth.

Jean-Baptiste is the name you might recognize here but the Chiefs also have a lot going on at cornerback. There is some young talent there despite it being viewed as a need.
