Chiefs’ Justin Houston says he feels great, talks about what he’s been doing this offseason

Justin Houston says he’s feeling a lot better this year compared to last year.

“I feel great now,” Houston said Tuesday. “Last year I couldn’t even run at this time.”

Houston is coming back from an injury-plagued couple of years. First it was the injury and eventual ACL injury in 2015 and then he didn’t seem quite right in 2016 when he came back.

So, what’s he been up to this offseason? This is the first time we’ve seen him since he hasn’t been at the offseason program to this point.

“I was in Atlanta just working out, nothing new, nothing special,” Houston said. “Just resting and enjoying the family.”

Houston provided a specific reason for why he likes working out where he does.

“I’m a one-on-one guy and even when I’m back home the group I train with it’s no more than three people,” Houston said. “If I’m messing up and doing something wrong I want to be corrected.”

That ... makes a lot of sense. He’s back this week and then off again until training camp.
