Will Dadi Nicolas be ready for the Kansas City Chiefs 2017 season?

Dadi Nicolas didn’t play too much last season after the Kansas City Chiefs used a sixth round pick on him in the 2016 draft. He was playing late in the season when he went down with a ruptured patellar tendon, which is a tough injury. I don’t know exactly how the rehab is going - Andy Reid said last month he probably won’t do anything at OTAs - but this quick video from Nicolas looks encouraging. This would be five-plus months after his injury.

It’s encouraging to see this because a ruptured patellar tendon is a serious injury. Not every NFL player comes back from that. Nicolas is still young (24) so he had that on his side. He still has yet to come back though.

I hope it can be this season. The Chiefs seem set at the top with Justin Houston and Dee Ford but we could’ve said that the past three years and yet somehow they don’t seem to play together very often. One is hurt or ineffective or something. In the next couple of years the Chiefs could lose Dee Ford and then after this year they could lose Tamba Hali so spots will be opening up eventually if someone like Nicolas can emerge.
