Former Chiefs free agent interest Gerald Hodges continues taking visits

The Kansas City Chiefs hosted free agent LB Gerald Hodges on a free agent visit earlier this offseason but he left without signing a contract. Since then, Hodges has taken a bunch of visits to other teams.

There have been reports of him visiting: Bills, Giants, Colts, Patriots, Jaguars, Jets and Seahawks.

The reason Chiefs fans are interested in him is because he plays inside linebacker which could be a position the Chiefs need insurance depending on how Derrick Johnson comes back from his Achilles rupture. If DJ comes back the same ‘ol DJ - which, hey, is possible - there would be no need for Hodges because DJ plays just about every snap.

The Chiefs drafted one inside linebacker in Ukeme Eligwe and have a few other options so they aren’t desperate. Having that insurance would be nice, though. Hodges started 12 games for the 49ers last year.
