The Kansas City Chiefs lost their director of pro personnel Will Lewis earlier this week and now the Chiefs have reportedly hired a new one. As reported by NFL Network, the Chiefs have hired Tim Terry out of the Packers front office as their director of pro personnel.
Terry, 42, was responsible for scouting the NFL, CFL and Arena league as well as advance scouting of the Packers upcoming opponents. He was named assistant director or pro personnel in 2008.
This looks like a great hire coming from the Packers, who have a loaded front office with multiple future GM candidates. Two Packers front office members actually interviewed for GM jobs this offseason. It would likely be a while before Terry could advance that much in a front office with that much talent so the Chiefs benefit.
I would imagine Chiefs GM John Dorsey remembers Terry not only from his time in Green Bay’s front office but also his playing days. Terry came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 1997 out of Temple and actually went to camp with the Chiefs in 1999. He spent a couple of years with the Seahawks after that.
