We’ve been tracking the Kansas City Chiefs 2017 undrafted free agent signings. We have a bunch of UDFA signings confirmed as well as a number of tryouts next week at the Chiefs rookie minicamp.
As we were tracking this on Saturday night we noticed that the early signings were almost all receivers, which was interesting. That just could be how the reports surfaced or the Chiefs really were prioritizing receivers. Who knows?
The Chiefs will have to have enough players to conduct a rookie minicamp practice which is why you’ll see camp invites for long snappers, kickers and punters. The Chiefs probably aren’t looking for a new snapper or punter (maybe a kicker?) so I wouldn’t read too much into that.
We’ll be tracking these as they continue to come in. The Chiefs may or may not confirm this list of signings and tryout players at some point.
Two quick notes about these UDFAs reports. 1) They’re not official until something is signed and the team announces it and 2) sometimes a player is just working out for the Chiefs next week at rookie minicamp and not actually signing. It’s not always reported that way so we await for the official word from the Chiefs.
