The Pittsburgh Steelers were floated as a possible Jamaal Charles landing spot and they are interested in a Kansas City Chiefs running back ... just not Jamaal Charles. A report out of Pittsburgh states that former Chief Knile Davis is visiting the Steelers.
(UPDATE: The Steelers have now signed him. Read more at Behind The Steel Curtain)
Knile has some flaws in his game but I would be interested in seeing what he can do with more carries. In Pittsburgh, Le’Veon Bell is the main back while DeAngelo Williams is a free agent. If Williams doesn’t come back, then Knile could actually see a little playing time in Pittsburgh if the Steelers do end up signing him.
Knile has some talent but it never quite worked out in Kansas City. He wasn’t the best fit for the Chiefs offense. The Chiefs other backs do a better job of catching the ball and pass blocking. And of course it’s hard to forget that fumble in New England two years ago in the Chiefs playoff loss.
