That 2013 NFL draft really sucked

New, comments

Of course it’s the Kansas City Chiefs luck that when they have a top five pick there is no quarterback to take. It happened in 2009 - an awful draft - when Matt Stafford went first and the Chiefs took Tyson Jackson. It happened again in 2010 but the Chiefs did OK by taking Eric Berry. The 2013 draft, now that was something ... something awful.

Luke Joeckel just signed a one-year deal with the Seahawks which made me think of how bad that 2013 draft was (also this tweet from Brandon Kiley). Lane Johnson and Ezekiel Ansah - neither of which were talked about as a top pick - are probably the only two players on this list better than Fisher. A guard in the top 10 (Chance Warmack) should be going to the Hall of Fame if drafted that high.

I have on reason for pointing this out other than I was reminded again recently how bad this draft was.

  1. Eric Fisher
  2. Luke Joeckel
  3. Dion Jordan
  4. Lane Johnson
  5. Ezekiel Ansah
  6. Barkevious Mingo
  7. Jonathan Cooper
  8. Tavon Austin
  9. Dee Milliner
  10. Chance Warmack
