Chiefs GM on Packers talk: ‘I love it here, I don’t know how much more I can stress it’

Chiefs GM John Dorsey was asked about the reports that the Packers could be interested in him. He has one year left on his contract. Here’s what he told us on a conference call today:

“This is a very fascinating subject matter only because I don’t worry about those types of things. We said earlier long ago, check your ego, roll your sleeves up, move forward and build ... this has been the greatest four years of my life. I love this city, I love this team, I love this community, I think this is one of the most stable franchises in the NFL. That leadership starts at the top. The relationship between Mark Donovan, myself, Andy (Reid) and Clark (Hunt), it’s awesome. I love coming to work every day. I don’t know more what I can say. I love this team and this community.”

If that wasn’t clear, there’s more:

“I love it here. I don’t know how much more I can stress it. All I know is I’m having fun and you know what, from an organization standpoint, we have made strides every year and I’m loving every minute of it.”

Asked about his “dream job” comment when he was hired:

“I’d like to be thought of someone that finishes what he starts. I don’t know what more I need to say. My family and I love this city and this community and this franchise.”

Then this exchange between Dorsey and Adam Teicher:

Dorsey: Yeah I want to see baby Jack graduate high school.

Teicher: In Kansas City?

Dorsey: Why not? I’ll invite you to his graduation.
