I feel bad for Falcons fans. I’m going through the comments from our Falcons blog, The Falcoholic, during the game and they are painful. Falcons fans were talking about who will win the MVP - Matt Ryan or Devonta Freeman - early in the second half when they were up 28-3.
The comeback started. Matt Ryan and the Falcons led 28-20 with five minutes left in the game. On a second and eight, Ryan hit Julio Jones for an unbelievable catch. It looked like a dagger as Julio’s catch put the Falcons at the Patriots 22-yard line - plenty of room for a field goal to push this to a two score lead.
This Falcons fan thought it was their “Tyree catch” - a reference to David Tyree’s helmet catch in the Patriots-Giants Super Bowl.

Two plays later. 2nd and 11, still within field goal range, Matt Rya sacked for a 12-yard loss. They’re at the very far end of their field goal range. Everyone wonders, why are they passing?

The next play ... holding on Atlanta. Travis Kelce’s favorite ref is at it again.

The Patriots get it back and then the Edelman catch.
