The NFL Honors show tonight is handing out the season’s NFL awards. Andy Reid received a vote for the NFL’s coach of the year award and now we have results of the defensive player of the year voting where Eric Berry received one vote as well.

I thought he might get a vote or a few. He has the best story in the NFL but it’s tough for a safety to win this award. Pass rushers (sacks) or cornerbacks (interceptions) seem to be the ones who are up there the most often with this award. Berry had a season to remember at safety with multiple game changing plays, notable at Carolina and Atlanta. He was the best player on the Chiefs defense.
Hell of a season for the AFC West. They received the first, second and sixth most votes for defensive player of the year.
