Kansas City Chiefs compensatory picks will make this a fun draft

The Kansas City Chiefs compensatory picks are going to make this a fun draft. The Chiefs could have up to four more compensatory picks when April hits. As Matt Conner noted a few weeks ago, Over The Cap projects the Chiefs will get an extra third, fifth and two sixth round picks for their free agent losses last year.

With their own picks as well, the Chiefs will have a lot of flexibility to move up and down in this draft. I’m not saying they will but they have the ammo for it.

I thought of this because I was reading this piece from The Big Lead that talked about Deshaun Watson being a good fit in KC except that there’s no way he falls all the way to the 27th pick.

He probably won’t fall that far. However, if the Chiefs wanted to give up second and third round picks to move up a little, they could. Moving into the top 10? Probably not. But the Chiefs will have the flexibility to go up a little bit.

Put me down for the trade back into the second for another Chris Jones and extra picks. I’m calling it now.
