Update: Not cut yet. The Dolphins are reportedly looking at trade options now.
Branden Albert will become a free agent again under very different circumstances. The Miami Dolphins plan to cut Albert, according a report from NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Dolphins will be releasing LT Branden Albert today, source says. It's Tunsil time there. Adds an intriguing option to the tackle market.— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) February 16, 2017
It feels longer than three years ago that Albert was a Chief. Andy Reid came to town and many folks expected them to trade Albert. That trade never went through, he stayed in Kansas City for a year under the franchise tag and the Chiefs let him walk the following year where he secured a five-year, $47 million deal from the Dolphins.
Now, if (when) the Dolphins cut him, he’ll be a free agent again.
