When the Giants fired GM Jerry Reese earlier this week, I said they should look at former Chiefs GM John Dorsey to replace him. With news today that the Browns fired GM Sashi Brown, I once again say they should look at Dorsey.
There could be a little more to the Cleveland job. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Browns do have their eyes on Dorsey.
Behind the scenes over the past few weeks, the #Browns have privately vetted GM candidates — with eyes on former #Chiefs GM John Dorsey.

For a month, a search firm has been vetting former #Chiefs GM John Dorsey, a rare accomplished GM who is available. #Browns are open now.

Dorsey could have options and the Browns, at the moment, look like the worst option in the NFL. For whatever reason, nobody can win there. I don’t know if Dorsey would take that as a challenge or a caution flag to look at another job. It would be cool to win at a place like Cleveland. They have a ton of draft picks and a clean slate. I could see Dorsey, who came from Green Bay and then Kansas City, seeing the appeal of Cleveland.
Coach and GM hiring season is coming and Dorsey’s name figures to be near the top of the GM talks.
