Injuries are likely to once again cause lineup changes for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs started the practice week with four players not practicing: DE Allen Bailey (knee), LB Dee Ford (back), C Mitch Morse (foot) and S Eric Murray (ankle). The Chiefs also noted CB Marcus Peters is not practicing due to his suspension.
The Chiefs did see the return of LB Tamba Hali to practice but those other injuries are concerning. If Morse is out, the Chiefs will likely move Zach Fulton to center and Bryan Witzmann or Parker Ehinger at left guard. If Bailey is out, the Chiefs have Rakeem Nunez-Roches to step in and play more snaps.
The Chiefs have been without Dee Ford for weeks already so his absence won’t be anything new. However, during this Chiefs struggling stretch, they are last in the NFL in sacks. They need to generate a pass rush somehow. The fact that Ford isn’t on IR yet tells me the Chiefs expect him to play again this season. Good, they need him.
