The NFL world is reacting to Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs suspending CB Marcus Peters for Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders.
There are so many story lines here from this being the Raiders game which Peters always gets hyped for because he’s from Oakland to what this means for the prospects of a long-term deal with Peters.
For now, this is just a one-game suspension. We’ll see if there are any other implications down the road.
Let’s get to the reactions. First, this tweet from Tuesday (before the suspension was announced):
Lol

I have no idea if this tweet is a reaction to his suspension but it came out of the blue the morning before it was publicly announced he was suspended.
Reactions...
I know this game is in Kansas City but this is a game against the OAKLAND Raiders. The message is therefore enhanced when it comes to Marcus Peters on a personal level.

Can Andy suspend the entire defense please?

Can we suspend Bob Sutton while we’re at it, @chiefs?

Don't know. I'm just saying it's never one incident that causes a team to suspend a player. It's often a pattern of behavior that leads to the public incident. https://t.co/FOgNINUDdo

If suspending Marcus Peters from the Oakland game doesn’t wake him up...what will? Marcus cares about family, football...and Oakland. Andy setting an example and I don’t have a problem with it. #InAndyWeTrust

#Chiefs had to do something. No way they could pay him BIG money this offseason if his outta control nature didn't change.

Andy Reid suspending Marcus Peters for the entire game Sunday is Andy trying to take back the #Chiefs locker room. Comes off as a little desperate, but these are desperate times.

Every single #ChiefsKingdom outside cornerback (including Revis) not named Marcus Peters has been benched this season for poor play. Two of them have have to start in their nickel/dime on Sunday against the #Raiders and Derek Carr.

Marcus Peters suspension is still surprising to me. I think Andy knew he needed to regain control of a team spinning in the opposite direction
