Where will former Chiefs GM John Dorsey end up?

New, comments

The Kansas City Chiefs 2017 season isn’t so fun right now so let’s talk about something more fun: the guy they fired five months ago!

OK, not exactly more fun but I saw the news that the New York Giants fired their GM and head coach so it got me thinking about former Chiefs GM John Dorsey, who has taken the year off after the Chiefs fired him this summer.

Where will Dorsey end up? CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora reports that Dorsey will have interest from around the league.

I would recommend hiring him. There are plenty of bad GMs; Dorsey is not a bad GM (yes, even as I watch the way this year is playing out).

What has Dorsey been up to lately? He was on Adam Schefter’s podcast recently and said he’s still watching tape to stay on top of the game in hopes of coming back someplace.

“I don’t think I’ve really talked about anything,” Dorsey told Schefter, “and I’m kind of taking the last four or five months and just kinda done some self assessments and stayed in touch in terms of keeping up with the pro game in terms of watching pro tape on Mondays and Tuesdays and then on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday watch some college players to make sure I’m up to speed on the league and the draft class of 2018.”

The GM hiring season is coming soon with the Giants already making a move and other teams will do the same after the season ends next month.
