If the Chiefs win, they would play either the No. 1 seed Patriots or No. 2 seed Steelers. That game would be on the road. The Chiefs beat the Patriots earlier this season and lost to the Steelers. The Patriots and Steelers both have a first round bye.
The Chiefs finish the season at 10-6 and with a winning record for the fifth consecutive season under Andy Reid. Only the Patriots and Seahawks have had as many winning seasons in a row. This could be the final season for Alex Smith ... or the start of another run. This year’s playoffs will tell us more.
The Chiefs are a tough one to figure out heading into the playoffs. Which Chiefs team will you get? The one that started the season 5-0 and looked like the best team in football? The team that lost six of seven after that and put up nine points in a loss to the Giants? The one that won four straight since then?
The Chiefs are a streaky team. Currently, they appear to be on a good streak.
