UPDATE: Yes they will!
The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to sit many of their starters today against the Denver Broncos because they have already clinched the AFC West title and locked in the No. 4 seed in the NFL playoffs.
I mentioned earlier this week that Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt is 14 yards away from the NFL rushing lead and the man he’s chasing, RB Todd Gurley, is inactive for the Rams today (thanks to 610 Sports pal Jay Binkley for pointing that out). So is Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell, who is one yard behind Hunt.
The Chiefs just listed their inactives for today’s game against the Broncos and Kareem Hunt’s name is not listed. So he will be active. Charcandrick West, the Chiefs backup RB, is out with an illness. So it’ll be Kareem Hunt and Akeem Hunt active today.
But will Kareem Hunt play? Will the Chiefs give him a shot to gain 14 yards to win the NFL’s rushing title?
Would you do it if you were Andy Reid?
We shall see ...
NFL rushing leaders
1. Todd Gurley: 1,305 yards
2. Kareem Hunt: 1,292 yards
3. Le’Veon Bell: 1,291 yards
