The Kansas City Chiefs are melting down.
The Chiefs got yet another penalty on the Jets two-point conversion late in Sunday’s game. Steven Nelson was going to be flagged for holding after the Chiefs forced an incomplete pass on the conversion attempt. This was Nelson’s second penalty on that drive after extending that same drive earlier with a holding call in the end zone.
Chiefs CB Marcus Peters quickly got in the face of the ref after the flag went down and then PETERS PICKED UP THE FLAG AND CHUCKED IT INTO THE STANDS!

Peters was walked off the field and into the locker room after that. He just left.
Here’s the weird thing: Peters wasn’t actually ejected.
The ref never announced he was ejected. But he ran off the field and into the tunnel. CBS said Steven Nelson tried to run after Peters to stop him and get him to come back.
NFL says Marcus Peters was not ejected from the game officially. He left game after tossing a penalty flag into the crowd. Walked right out

I’m so ... confused.
This is the first time Peters has thrown a flag into the stands. We’ve seen him punt the ball into the stands but we haven’t seen him throw the penalty flag.
Update: Peters returned ... without socks!

No explanation after the game either.
Marcus Peters just left the Chiefs visiting locker room. First player to walk out. Didn’t talk to the media of course with the early exit.
