KC Chiefs QB Alex Smith has been under fire in Kansas City all week long with many Chiefs fans calling for backup QB Patrick Mahomes.
Alex’s response? 4/4 for 75 yards and this 22-yard touchdown pass to Travis Kelce on the opening drive against the New York Jets.

They weren’t done. Alex followed it up on the next drive with a 36-yard touchdown pass to Kelce.
Finally FINALLY the #Chiefs take advantage of a defense loading the box. Smith to Kelce. Beautiful. @KCTV5 pic.twitter.com/qwy8eotgPX

It was reported before the game that OC Matt Nagy would be taking over the Chiefs playcalling duties from Andy Reid. The offense looked excellent on their opening drive in New York with varied formations and play action passes. Good start for the Chiefs new playcaller.
Here are some of the reactions to the Chiefs suddenly-good-again offense.
So Matt Nagy...

Travis Kelce catches a wide-open touchdown and then blows kisses to the Jets crowd. See, the Chiefs are fine.

Matt Nagy calling and Andy Reid approving play calls that work so far.

This playcalling has been absolutely brilliant. I have no idea what’s coming unlike most KC games.

The Chiefs have 2 offensive TDs in the first 5 minutes vs the Jets

Alex Smith finds Travis Kelce for the 22-yard touchdown.#Chiefs ran five plays on that drive, and four of them were for 11+ yards.

The Chiefs look like the Chiefs of the first five games. Touchdown Smith to Kelce.
