Shoutout to KC Chiefs GM Brett Veach. He hasn’t been in charge very long but has made a couple of notable moves. Before the season he traded for LBs Reggie Ragland and Kevin Pierre-Louis and both turned into regular contributors.
Veach and Chiefs special teams coach Dave Toub also found kicker Harrison Butker a couple of weeks into the season. After Cairo Santos was hurt, the Chiefs signed Butker and then eventually released Santos (which was a surprise at the time).
All Butker did was go on to kick more field goals in one season than any other kicker in Chiefs history. Decent, eh?
For his Work in Week 16, he has been named the AFC special teams player of the week.
