It was a tough 2017 season for Morse, who injured his left foot in Week 2, missed five games with the injury, returned to the lineup, then re-injured it Week 13 against the New York Jets.
According to Spotrac.com, the 25-year-old Mizzou product has one year left on his initial contract with the Chiefs.
The expectation is that Zach Fulton will fill in at center for the rest of the season, with Bryan Witzmann at starting left guard.
The Chiefs have elevated cornerback Keith Reaser to the 53-man roster in Morse’s place. Reaser spent the first three years of his career with the San Francisco 49ers before joining the Chiefs practice squad in September.
