Dallas' David Irving grateful Chiefs gave him his first shot | The Kansas City Star
“I literally just saved up enough money to get the furniture moved in my apartment,” Irving told the Dallas Cowboys’ website. “That next day I had to leave. I left the lease, broke the lease, left the furniture — I just had to go. It was a crazy experience.”
KC Chiefs 6-2 at NFL midpoint but fans are skeptical | The Kansas City Star
We’ve seen the 2012 Our Time Royals make a mockery of optimism, and the 2013 Chiefs turn a 9-0 start and 28-point playoff lead into a cruel prologue, to say nothing of Sporting Kansas City’s most recent fade or, because we don’t want you to punch the screen you’re reading this on, anything about the area’s major colleges.
Bob Sutton's scheme is doing exactly what the Kansas City Chiefs need | Arrowhead Addict
Like I said before, the Chiefs offense is by far the strength of this team while the defense is the weak link. This means the Chiefs defense needs to be played in a way that they don’t cost your team a chance to win. This defense is good enough to shut down one part of an opposing team’s offense, but they can’t do both. So if you could choose which part of a game to stop what would you pick: passing game or the running game?
Zeke's dramatic late return from the suspended list provides an emotional lift and Dallas gets its elite runner back to boot. But who's going to stop Kansas City RB Kareem Hunt? The 6-2 Chiefs offer the best offense the Cowboys have seen this year, says defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli. Has Dallas beat a good team yet? Chiefs, 34-31
KC Chiefs-Dallas Cowboys game preview podcast, 11/5/17 | The Kansas City Star
The Star’s Terez Paylor kicks off the pod with an interview with the reigning AFC special teams player of the week, rookie kicker Harrison Butker. Cowboys beat writer Clarence Hill Jr. of the (Fort Worth) Star-Telegram also joins the pod to talk about how dangerous the Cowboys’ offense is without star running back Ezekiel Eliott.
Dallas Cowboys' young defense will be tested by Kansas City Chiefs | NBC Sports
The Dallas Cowboys' young defense will have its hands full against a Kansas City Chiefs side that features Alex Smith, Travis Kelce and Kareem Hunt.
Ford, Wilson out for Chiefs, but status of Tamba Hali unknown | The Kansas City Star
But Reid was non-committal about Tamba Hali playing Sunday in Ford’s place.
“He’s literally just knocking the rust off,” Reid said. “We’re literally taking it day by day and seeing; let’s just see what happens.”
On offense, the Cowboys rank 6th in the league with a YPP of 13.1 which isn't too far behind the league-leading Houston Texans (12.0) but a long way off from the last place Browns (20.3). Unfortunately, the Cowboys’ defensive number doesn't look quite as good. Their YPP of 14.1 ranks them 23rd in the league. Compare that to the league-leading Bills (21.1) or Jaguars (19.1) and you'll understand that there's still a lot of room for improvement for the Cowboys defense.
KC Chiefs’ Derrick Johnson still recovering from Achilles tear | The Kansas City Star
Johnson is so competitive that although he should be applauded for returning to full-contact practice only seven months after the injury, it is no consolation for the Chiefs’ all-time leader in tackles, someone who is clearly eager to get back to the daring, destructive and exciting force he was prior to the injury.
The Chiefs linebackers told Fox 4 that in addition to driving for Lyft, Roston owns a black car service and would often drive his family around.
"Antoine drove my family around for games -- very well-respected," Johnson said. "When my family got the news, they were very heartbroken."
"I'm happy for him," Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. "I'm pulling for him every week except this week. He's a good kid. He did a nice job when he was here. We didn't want to lose him, obviously, but the Cowboys did a nice job of taking him, and now he's in great hands with Rod Marinelli. Nobody is better than [Marinelli]."
Kansas City Chiefs activate LB Tamba Hali from PUP list
He hasn't played since last season, and his only practice sessions of the year came on Thursday and Friday. But he could play a significant role against the Cowboys. The Chiefs will be without starting outside linebacker Dee Ford, who has a back injury.

The Kansas City Chiefs land in Dallas in preparation for Sundays game with the Cowboys.
Opposing player to watch: Chiefs outside linebacker Justin Houston | Blogging The Boys
As of right now Kelce ranks sixth in the league in receiving yards while Hill is right behind him at seventh. The Cowboys defense will clearly have their hands full with these two on Sunday, and if that wasn’t enough you can throw in the league’s fifth leading rusher in Kareem Hunt. I could’ve easily written this article about any of those three dynamic offensive players but I’m choosing to go in a different direction.
Predictions for the Cowboys and Chiefs game, who will win? | Blogging The Boys
Dave Halprin: The Cowboys defense probably won't be able to slow the Chiefs offense, but the Cowboys offense will slow the Chiefs offense. Expect Ezekiel Elliott to have a big day, grind out the clock and keep Alex Smith and company on the sideline for much of the game. The game won't be the over-the-top shootout everyone is expecting, instead the Cowboys win a hard-fought 24-23 game.
Five things we’re thinking about the Dallas Cowboys | Blogging The Boys
One of the most shocking revelations this season has been the performance of the Cowboys’ defensive line. Dallas has 25 sacks on the year, ranking them fifth in sacks this season. They haven’t reached the Top-10 since 2011, which was also the last season two pass rushers made the Pro Bowl for the Cowboys. Dallas has a good chance to have that happen again this season with Demarcus Lawrence and David Irving.
