The Kansas City Chiefs recently cut their third TE Ross Travis. I wondered if that meant they would be adding another tight end from the practice squad and as it turns out that’s what they are doing. The Chiefs have elevated Orson Charles from the practice squad.

Charles was a fourth round pick by the Bengals way back in 2012. He has spent time with the Saints, Lions and now Chiefs. He’s also played some fullback in his time.
He doesn’t have much in the way of actual NFL stats. He has nine career receptions for 109 yards with the last reception coming in 2013. In short, don’t expect much out of Charles for now. The third tight gets some action in Kansas City but not a ton (Ross Travis had five catches so far this year).
