Bills-Chiefs final score: Alex Smith has a rough day as Kansas City loses again, 16-10

Alex Smith threw the game ending interception as the Kansas City Chiefs lose to the Buffalo Bills, 16-10. This isn’t as embarrassing as last week’s loss to the Giants but this one is really bad. This one hurts because it was so winnable. The Chiefs drop to 6-5 on the season.

Final stats are here.

The Chiefs offense is bad and so is Alex Smith

They’ve had better days, that’s for sure. This offense though is bad right now. They haven’t been good in a while now. Alex Smith is part of the problem. His thing is accuracy and he hasn’t been accurate. He gets happy feet and then can’t look downfield. Whatever is happening, it’s not good. They need to fix it.

It’s closer to Patrick Mahomes time

Many of you are ready for Mahomes, like, right now. Play him next week! I have been a little slower getting there but after this game I would be OK with a switch. It’s not that Mahomes is going to come in and completely transform the offense. He’s a rookie and will make mistakes. But it’s something different. This team needs a spark. Something! They’re too talented to be this bad. I’m just so confused how they got so bad.

So, yeah, I am OK with going to Mahomes. I don’t think the Chiefs will actually do that but I would approve of it.

The Chiefs defense is good again

They allowed nine points last week and 16 this week. Bills QB Tyrod Taylor still had too much time back there this week but the Chiefs defense as a whole did pretty well. I was having nightmares about LeSean McCoy dancing around Chiefs defenders but they did a great job on him holding him to 49 yards on 22 carries.

Reggie Ragland looked great

Hey, a positive item! Ragland, who the Chiefs traded for before the season, had a really good game. He flashed behind the line of scrimmage like Derrick Johnson used to and was a reliable tackler. That’s looking like a good trade.
