Chiefs’ Travis Kelce being evaluated for a concussion

Travis Kelce was not spotted in the game or on the sidelines as the second half started in Houston and they’re saying he’s being evaluated for a concussion.

The timing is odd because Kelce did take a helmet to helmet hit for which the Texans were penalized. That looked like the play where he could have potentially been concussed because it was a hard hit, his head appeared to hit the turf too and he was slow to get up.

However, Kelce came back in a couple of plays later. Don’t they do concussion tests on the sidelines after a hit like that? I’m confused about the timing of this.

Does this all sound familiar? Remember Alex Smith? The KC Star story here is worth a reminder.

Kelce is one of the 2-3 most important players on the Chiefs offense so any absence from him would be significant. The Chiefs are playing really well in Houston so you hope they can hold on and pull this out without needing Kelce.
