The AP rundown: Week 5

Is Chiefs-Texans a rivalry?

Posted by Arrowhead Pride: For Kansas City Chiefs Fans on Friday, October 6, 2017

We’re awaiting the 4-0 Kansas City Chiefs to visit the 2-2 Houston Texans for Sunday Night Football. The Chiefs are now up to a 2-point favorite according to the betting lines on the game which will be aired on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. You can find information here on how to livestream the game online (at NBC Sports dot com) and how to watch it on TV or listen to it on the radio. The announcers will be Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth and Michele Tafoya on the sideline.

The Chiefs at 4-0 are the best team in the NFL. The Texans are coming in with rookie QB Deshaun Watson, whom they selected two spots after the Chiefs got Patrick Mahomes in the 2017 draft. I recently asked our readers Mahomes or Watson and it was overwhelmingly still Mahomes.

Enough about Mahomes for now. Alex Smith is leading the Chiefs and doing a great job of it. He has thrown eight touchdowns to zero interceptions and is playing the best ball of his life. Add in Kareem Hunt, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill and all of a sudden this Chiefs offense looks explosive.

The challenges the Chiefs face in this game will be the Texans defensive line going up against the Chiefs offensive line, which is missing starting C Mitch Morse and G Laurent Duvernay-Tardif. Zach Fulton will replace Morse and either Jorday Devey or Parker Ehinger will replace LDT. JJ Watt, Jadeveon Clowney and co. are a load and the Chiefs are down a couple of linemen. Andy Reid will be scheming his way around that one.
