Kansas City Chiefs not sure what they’re doing at guard yet

The Kansas City Chiefs lost guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif to injury last week. The Chiefs are calling it a sprained knee and it’s sounding like this is a multi-week thing, not a season-ending thing. That’s good news because LDT is one of their best linemen.

When LDT was lost, the Chiefs replaced him with Jordan Devey after deactivating Parker Ehinger. With a week to prepare, who will the Chiefs go with to replace LDT against the Texans next week?

“We haven’t right now,” Reid said. “We’re just going to play it by ear here and see how things go the next couple of days. See how it all rolls.”

Hmm. If they were rolling with Devey, he would just say Devey, right? It seems like there’s some indecision there. Ehinger has a few games of NFL experience too so he could be someone they’re considering. Even if they stick with Devey, I would expect the Chiefs to activate Ehinger next week. Another option would be Zach Fulton but he’s already replacing Mitch Morse.

I’m not sure what they’re going to do here. I’ll go with Ehinger making his debut because that seems like the only other option besides Devey.
