Chiefs have played the second hardest schedule so far this season

If it feels like the Kansas City Chiefs have played a really hard schedule this year, you’re right. They have played the second hardest schedule in the NFL based on 2017 records so far this season.

The Chiefs schedule is highlighted by playing two of the league’s best teams in the firs two games — the Patriots and Eagles. The Patriots we expected to be among the league’s best teams and they are once again. The Eagles are the newcomer here. It seemed like a good but not great win for the Chiefs at the time but now that the Eagles are 6-1 the Chiefs win looks really good.

The Chiefs just haven’t played any really bad teams yet. The Chargers aren’t that bad. Neither are the Raiders (despite what we say). Everyone the Chiefs have played so far this season has a realistic shot at the playoffs (OK, except the Chargers). It’s obviously still early. Here’s who they have played:

The Chiefs remaining schedule does ease up a little bit with games against the Giants and Jets in there but they’re still playing a bunch of teams who could end up competing for a playoff spot.

If the Chiefs make the playoffs this year (they better at this point), they’ll have earned it.
