The Kansas City Chiefs are still sitting pretty in the AFC West after Week 7 despite two consecutive losses. At 5-2, the Chiefs hold a two-game lead over everyone in the AFC West standings, including the Broncos who they will play on Monday Night Football.

A win by the Chiefs on Monday night would mean a three game lead over the next closest team with eight games to play. I won’t say that insurmountable because a three game losing streak can easily happen (and could happen if they lose on Monday).
The Chargers did the Chiefs a favor by beating the Broncos on Sunday. In fact, they embarrassed them, 21-0. I’m not sure as a Chiefs fan if you should like that because they’re not that good or if you expect a big bounce back game from them. Monday night at Arrowhead? The Broncos know it will be a big win.
Here are the AFC West standings below, including the next three games for each team. Everyone here plays a tough schedule over the next three with three of the four AFC West teams playing the Patriots. The Broncos have what I think would be the hardest three game stretch you could imagine right now: at Chiefs, at Eagles, Patriots. Does it get any harder than that? The Broncos will likely be ‘dogs in all three of those games.
