Marcus Peters wants to help Marshawn Lynch win his suspension appeal

The ties between Marcus Peters and Marshawn Lynch run very deep. Lynch was suspended after running onto the field to protect Peters when the Chiefs and Raiders players were going at it on Thursday. For his participation in the “fight” - Lynch ran in from the sidelines - he was suspended one game (technically for making contact with an official).

Lynch is going to appeal the suspension AND he’s going to have Marcus Peters behind him. According to multiple reports, including Jay Glazer of Fox, Peters will be involved in the appeal. Specifically, according to Glazer, he will be on the appeals call if he can’t attend in person.

My first reaction is as a Chiefs fan: What are you doing, man? This is a Raider! However, you know these two have a different relationship and go back a long ways. If Lynch can run onto the field to protect Peters then Peters can participate in a call to get him suspended. I feel a little uneasy about going out of your way to help a rival but I get the circumstances here.

The truth is, it’s probably better for the Chiefs if Lynch is out there taking snaps from the backs behind him who are better than him.
