Derek Carr is injured, may not be ready for Chiefs-Raiders Week 7 game

It sounds like there’s a shot the Oakland Raiders will be without QB Derek Carr when they host the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday Night Football in a few weeks. Carr suffered a back injury on Sunday and the Raiders are saying he will be out at least two weeks and maybe as long as six weeks.

Read quotes and more information on the injury at Silver and Black Pride. They are reacting to this news, which is a game changer in the AFC West. EJ Manuel is the Raiders backup QB. It’s October 2 and the Chiefs play the Raiders on Thursday, October 19 so you can do the math on how likely it is he’ll be ready.

I have to say, it would be a shame if he can’t play. The Chiefs-Raiders Week 7 game was looking like one of the best games of the year for not just the Chiefs and Raiders but in the entire NFL too. Frankly, I wanted the Raiders at full strength so we will see how it goes.

With Carr out, the Raiders are a different team. The Chiefs may even be favored in Oakland on a short week if Carr isn’t playing.
