Ben Roethlisberger and the 3-2 Pittsburgh Steelers visit Arrowhead Stadium in Week 6 to face the 5-0 Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are the favorites in the game with the betting line going from 3 to 4.5 and back to 4 points. This is a different Chiefs team that lost to Pittsburgh in last year’s AFC Divisional round playoffs. The offense is more explosive with Alex Smith playing at an MVP level and Kareem Hunt being added to the mix.
The Chiefs have historically struggled against the Steelers, who are 21-10 against the Chiefs all-time. Big Ben is coming off a Jaguars game in which he threw five interceptions and wondered if he was done. He has since suggested his resume with two Super Bowls means he can turn it around but it feels odd around the Steelers lately. Does Big Ben still have it? Is Le’Veon Bell upset about not getting the ball more? Is Antonio Brown selfish? You question a lot after a blowout loss to Jacksonville.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs are trying to stay healthy as the injuries continue to mount. This week they got some good news as Travis Kelce, Justin Houston and Tyreek Hill will play after being listed on the injury report this week. The Chiefs will be without two starting interior linemen in C Mitch Morse and G Laurent Duvernay-Tardif. Morse will be replaced by Zach Fulton and LDT should be replaced by Cameron Erving (a review of his performance last week here).
The Chiefs opened as 3-point favorites and now the line is up to 4.5 in some places so there are Chiefs believers out there.
