Chiefs say they’re expecting one of the largest crowds in years for the Steelers game

Blame the Steelers fans if you want but the Kansas City Chiefs told us that they’re expecting one of the largest crowds in recent memory this Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.

Specifically, the Chiefs said they’re expecting one of the largest crowds since the 2010 Arrowhead renovations. There have been a lot of big games since then, including a playoff game. Arrowhead should be rockin’.

There are a couple of reasons for this. First, the Chiefs are the best team in football and they’re coming back home after a big primetime win in Houston. Chiefs fans are pumped and want to see them play an AFC contender.

Second, it’s the Steelers. I’m not sure there’s another team in the NFL that travels as well as the Steelers. There will be plenty of yellow and gold there with those damn towels waving all over the place.

The Chiefs sent the note to us about the expected attendance in the context of encouraging fans to arrive to the game early. It’s a late afternoon start at 3:25 p.m. so the parking lot gates open at 10:30 a.m. I know Chiefs fans will be waiting at the game.
