I know, I know. Every day we mention that Alex Smith is now great at throwing the ball deep. We’ll have a bunch of different stats that basically say the same thing.
The thing is, I’m not tired of it. I’m not sure I ever will be. I can’t get over the fact that this is a true statement in 2017: Alex Smith is a better deep ball thrower than Tom Brady.

Go back two months to August. How badly would I have mocked you if you suggested that Alex would have the best deep ball in the game on October 11? I would have told you that players don’t completely change their game at 33 years old after 12 years in the league. That simply doesn’t happen.
Apparently, it does happen.
