There was a report over the weekend that John Dorsey is a potential candidate for the Packers GM. That’s surprising considering the Packers GM job isn’t even open. It was plenty of speculation but it led to people wondering why John Dorsey is reportedly in the final year of his contract and hasn’t been extended.
Andy Reid took the podium on Monday and was asked for the first time about that report.
“I’m not gonna talk about contracts,” Reid said. “You get a week off so you get to talk about all that stuff. I don’t think Dorse or I even think about that to be honest with you.”
(Update: Just saw Terez Paylor caught up with Chiefs president Mark Donovan and asked him about this. Didn’t say much about Dorsey.)
He said that they feel honored and privileged to be working here and credited Clark Hunt for the environment. Terez Paylor didn’t let it completely die and asked Reid about Chris Ballard, who is apparently staying in the Chiefs front office.
“He’s good,” Reid said. “I’ll leave it at that. Let’s talk some football.”
Andy Reid never says anything specific about these types of things so I’m not even sure how to read him here. I have no idea what it means.
