Chiefs projected to net 4 compensatory draft picks in 2017

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Over the Cap has their complete list of compensatory draft pick projections up, and the Kansas City Chiefs are expected to pick up an additional four selections in the 2017 NFL Draft.

The Chiefs are among several teams with an additional Day Two pick at the end of the third round. The loss of Sean Smith to the Oakland Raiders is expected to net the Chiefs their best compensatory pick and gives John Dorsey another strong asset to use or maneuver.

The Chiefs are also expected to pick up a fifth round pick for the loss of quarterback Chase Daniel to the Philadelphia Eagles and two sixth round comp picks for the free agent losses of offensive tackle Donald Stephenson to the Denver Broncos and safety Tyvon Branch to the Arizona Cardinals.

This list is, of course, unofficial and even admits their valuations could be wrong, especially in terms of whether Sean Smith will net a third or fourth round pick or whether the Chiefs will get two picks at the end of the sixth or not. However, OTC is usually on the mark with their projections.
