Chiefs swap out Dadi Nicolas with a linebacker from the Jets

The Kansas City Chiefs are making roster moves. They have added Victor Ochi from the New York Jets practice squad. To make room for him the Chiefs placed Dadi Nicolas on IR after he ruptured his patellar tendon last week.

I don’t know much about him other than he made Terez Paylor’s All-Juice team. Here’s his scouting report on NFL.com:

Ochi dominated his competition with explosive power and high-octane effort. While his production looks inspiring, his opposition rarely played with enough functional strength or athleticism to warrant a camp invite. Transitioning to NFL speed and strength will be a huge jump for Ochi, but he has the translatable power and nastiness to compete for a roster spot as a physical, edge-setting 3-4 outside linebacker.

Nicolas was mostly a special teams player so I would expect that Ochi is here for something similar or a reserve role. I’m not expecting him to line up and play a bunch of defensive snaps.

Battle’s name sounds familiar because he was a supplemental draft pick a couple of years ago.
