Super Bowl 2017 odds: Patriots favored over Falcons, lots of points expected

The New England Patriots are three-point favorites over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51. The Patriots dispatched the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship game to claim their spot in the big game while the Falcons beat the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game to get here.

These match the No. 1 and No. 3 scoring offenses in the NFL so this should be a fun game with lots of points scored. The betting outlets are already expecting lots of points with the over / under at its highest ever.

That’s a lot! A lot of games you see this in the 50s or below so this is really high. The Packers-Falcons NFC Championship game was 60.5, which was the highest ever for a conference championship.

This is good news for everyone. A Super Bowl with a ton of points scored is most entertaining for everyone. I just hope we get better games than what we’ve seen in most of the playoffs this year. Other than the Packers-Cowboys and Steelers-Chiefs (kinda), these games have all been blowouts. A close, high-scoring Super Bowl would be a nice way to make up for that.
