About that report on Chiefs GM John Dorsey’s future

The Kansas City Chiefs bye week brought plenty of news with Chiefs GM John Dorsey only to be forgotten (by me at least) in the week leading up to the Chiefs playoff loss to the Steelers.

As we come out of the playoff haze, I’m reminded that there appears to be some things to be settled with the Chiefs GM.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport had this stunner during the Chiefs bye week:

Dorsey, a former Packers player who cut his teeth in Green Bay under Hall of Fame architect Ron Wolf, has not yet signed a contract extension, sources said. He's in the final year of his deal, potentially opening the door to him leaving what he helped build in Kansas City to work at Lambeau Field.

This was on the morning of January 8, a little over a week ago. There were no follow up reports by NFL Network or any other outlet as far as I saw. The season is now over. So, what happens now?

Seems kinda important to the future of the team, assuming this report was accurate. Hopefully there’s some clarity sooner rather than later.
