At the start of this week, the get-in price for the Kansas City Chiefs playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers was around $100. By Wednesday, the cheapest tickets were going for $50.
This morning, I see tickets on Stubhub for $28.
Folks, it’s looking like we’re not going to have a packed house this weekend. The ticket trends tell the story. Just incredibly bad luck for the biggest game at Arrowhead in 13 years to have the biggest ice storm - supposedly - in that span, too.
There is major hype over this ice storm locally so all this is a reflection of that hype. If the ice storm delivers as they say it will, I believe attendance will be affected. If the ice storm is a bust, we won’t know that until Sunday morning when many fans probably already made their decision either way.
