Jamaal Charles doubtful for Chiefs-Chargers game

The chances of seeing Jamaal Charles on Sunday are very, very slim. KC Chiefs coach Andy Reid says Jamaal will be doubtful against the San Diego Chargers to open the season.

I know some of you are thinking, “Could Andy Reid be lying to fool the Chargers?” No, he’s not doing that. Unless you’re Bill Belichick, you’re not supposed to fake the injury report like that. Plus, the Chiefs have been cautious with him all offseason.

I believe Jamaal will soon be fine. The Chiefs are being extremely cautious because they can be extremely cautious. They have the best backup running back situation in the NFL with Spencer Ware, Charcandrick West and Knile Davis. The Chargers have not been good against the run in four years. So if I’m the Chiefs, I’m thinking I can get away with no Jamaal this week if I don’t have to.

For those of who reading this for fantasy reasons, Spencer Ware will likely be the lead back against a porous Chargers run defense. Charcandrick West, who is on the injury report with an elbow injury, would be up next and then Knile Davis.
