Chiefs cut Ramik Wilson after claiming LB on waiver wire

I was wondering about the Kansas City Chiefs other inside linebackers when I heard that they claimed former Green Bay Packer Sam Barrington from the waiver wire. Now we have our answer: Ramik Wilson has been cut to make room for him, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

This shouldn’t be that surprising considering the Chiefs just claimed another inside linebacker. It was either him or DJ Alexander and Alexander provides more special teams value.

Wilson was a 2015 fourth round pick out of Georgia. He started two games last year and appeared in 10. He had a great shot to start this year with Josh Mauga hitting injured reserve but second year undrafted linebacker Justin March appears to have beaten him out.

I’ll be curious to see if anyone picks Wilson up off the waiver wire. He’s a decent player. The Chiefs have one more cut to go after claiming OT Bryan Witzmann from the Cowboys.
