Cris Collinsworth is on the call this weekend for the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday Night Football game on NBC. Collinsworth is also an investor at Pro Football Focus so I caught him doing a Facebook video at PFF on his preparation for the Chiefs-Steelers game. There were a whole lot of interesting stuff in there so I encourage you to watch it. I jotted down a few notes on what they had to say in the video:
DeAngelo Williams is one of the best chip blockers.
Lots of Marcus Peters talk. He is still being targeted a lot (23) but doing a better job this year.
Collinsworth loves Derrick Johnson. He gushed about him how he is the Peyton Manning of the defense.
The Chiefs revolving door at offensive guard.
They talked about how good of a route-runner Travis Kelce is and his YAC. “You gotta be athletic to dance like him.”
“They have a million different ways to run quick screens.” Steelers have struggled against screens.
Tyreek Hill is a matchup problem because Chiefs will put him all over the place, even the backfield.
Jeremy Maclin is the key to the offense but they note he has three drops this year compared to two total in the previous two years.
On the Steelers defense: “They’re breaking down on some basic, fundamental stuff.”
